Investing in the Future: Meet Our Apprentices

At Landau, we know that the future of manufacturing depends on developing the next generation of skilled professionals. That’s why we’re committed to providing apprenticeship opportunities that combine hands-on experience with industry-recognised training.

Today, we’re proud to highlight three apprentices who are progressing through different stages of their careers with us: Callum, Dean and Sam.

Callum

His journey began in our Joinery department under the guidance of Jim, Head of Joinery, where he developed the practical skills, precision and craftsmanship required for the trade. Over the course of his apprenticeship, Callum has worked towards the Advanced Carpentry & Joinery (Architectural) qualification through Hull College, a programme designed to develop advanced woodworking skills and the manufacture of complex, high-quality timber products.

As his skills have developed, Callum has progressed into our Complete Kitchens department, where he now works alongside James, our Production Manager. This move has allowed him to broaden his experience and apply his joinery expertise to the manufacture of complete kitchen solutions.

Dean

Dean has recently completed his apprenticeship and is now working full-time within our Cut & Edge department as a Semi-Skilled Machine Operator.

Dean completed the Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship through Hull College. The programme focuses on developing practical manufacturing skills, quality control, continuous improvement techniques and safe machine operation within a production environment.

Throughout his apprenticeship, Dean has gained valuable experience working with our machinery and production processes, developing the skills needed to support the efficiency and quality standards our customers expect.

Sam

Sam joined Landau four months ago and is currently at the beginning of his apprenticeship journey.

Like Dean, Sam is completing the Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship through Hull College while working in our Cut & Edge department.

Although still in the early stages of his training, Sam is already developing a strong understanding of machine operation, production processes, workplace safety and quality standards. With support from the team around him, he’s building the foundations for a successful career in manufacturing.

The future of British manufacturing depends on attracting and developing skilled people. Apprenticeships are one of the best ways to achieve that.

At Landau we are committed to giving young people the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues, gain recognised qualifications and build long-term careers.

The progress made by Callum, Dean and Sam demonstrates the value of investing in people and ensuring the skills and craftsmanship that define our business continue for generations to come.
